No Mary Queen of Scots Tours would be complete without visiting Mary`s birth place at Linlithgow Palace. Mary spent the first few months of her life here before being moved to the safer location of Stirling Castle. It would be another 20 years before she returned to the Palace. The first public statue of Mary was unveiled in the grounds in 2015. The statue looks out over the Grounds and Palace.

The Duke of Cumberland troops destroyed the Palace by fire in 1746 as they chased the Jacobite Army northwards.

The Palace has been used as a location film and TV location for Outlander, Outlaw King and Mary Queen of Scots
